Covenant Consult

Established in Yangon in 2011, Covenant Consult provides individual and innovative solutions for our clients and the people we work with. We work mainly in SE Asia. We are highly committed to delivering real results and change for our clients and others we work with every day. So far we have specialised in peace-building initiatives and implementing complex projects in conflict-affected areas. From our experience and cooperation with other experts in Myanmar over many years, we have built trusted networks and relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders – including NGOs, CSOs, government agencies, Ethnic Armed Organisations, as well as local communities and businesses.  This gives us the ability to carry out projects in a conflict-sensitive way, adhering to international best practices of ‘do-no-harm’ and building mutual respect.

Management

Tim Schroeder – Head of Program

Tim Paul Schroeder is Head of Program at Covenant, where he oversees program implementation and business development.
Prior to working at Covenant, Tim was a consultant for the Myanmar Peace Support Initiative, where he supported peace-building projects in conflict-affected areas of southeast Myanmar.
Tim earned his Bachelor of Science degree in International Business from Pforzheim University of Applied Science. He has also obtained a Master of Arts degree in International Social Sciences from Friedensau Adventist University, Germany.

Axel Schroeder – Head of Finance and Administration

Axel Schroeder is a professional with advanced experiences in economic and financial sector development. He has worked with a wide range of organizations in the development sector in Europe, Africa and Asia. Axel has also been involved in several research studies and economical assessments for intergovernmental organizations in Asia. He holds corporate finance lectures at the university level and has developed and implemented microfinance training workshops for local NGOs in Myanmar. He holds a Master Degree in International Strategic Management, as well as a Master Degree in  International Social Sciences.

Matthias Rimarzik- Senior Development Advisor

Matthias is a development professional with 15 years of experience in advisory, management and leadership roles in Southeast Asia. He has conducted and contributed to a number of research activities, with extensive field work. He works in particular within Myanmar’s Education/Technical Vocational Education Training and Livelihoods sector, with a focus on vulnerability and inclusiveness. He holds a Master of Sciences (MSc Natural Resource Management) with post-graduate Certificate in Development Studies.

Dr. Robert Mellor – Senior Associate Consultant

Robert is a development advisor who has designed, managed and evaluated projects in more than 22 countries. His advisory focuses on capacity-building and learning: in policy and practice, both personal and institutional, to national and sub-national government, as well as to non-government organisations. He has a unique blend of practical skills, honed over years of experience with a capacity for strategic and innovative thinking. He has a Master of Policy (in international Development), a PhD in Business Innovation, as well as a number of vocational qualifications.

Stefan Wetzel -Associate Consultant

Stefan Wetzel has over 12 years experience in management, leadership and advisory positions in the humanitarian and development cooperation context. With technical skills in WaSH, Disaster Risk Reduction and Drug Demand Reduction, he has a proven track-record of achieving results in resource constrained, complex and dynamic settings. He also served as an INGO Country Representative to Myanmar and Iraq. Stefan holds a Master degree in Political and Social Sciences from Freie Universitaet Berlin, Germany.

Tim Davies – Business Advisor

Tim Davies works in the social enterprise sector as CFO of a Yangon-based fintech social enterprise since early 2018. Tim is familiar with the microfinance sector and is involved in the start-up scene in Myanmar, having advised several companies in Shan State and Yangon. He is a chartered accountant from the UK, having previously worked at the National Audit Office.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the University of Leicester, UK.

Tyler Davis – Education Advisor

Tyler is a trained linguist who specializes in Kuki-Chin languages of Myanmar. Tyler has lived in South East Asia for over half a decade and has worked in translation, in editing and in education. He has done linguistic fieldwork and survey in Thailand, in Chin State and in Kayin State. He holds a Master’s degree in Linguistics from Payap University, Chiang Mai, Thailand.

Regine Rimarzik – Senior Advisor- Gender Mainstreaming and Child Protection

Regine has a professional background in community health and intercultural work experience in the area of Children at Risk in South East Asia. Regine works, teaches, and researches with a passion for ethnic minority people who suffer from abuse, trauma, and addiction in social dislocation. Her role in development consultancy is to strengthen organizations and individuals, so that they may adequately respond to recovery needs of vulnerable women and children.
